Project part #4 Prototyping & Evaluation

Introduction   In this phase 4, we are testing our prototype by letting the user experience them based on the task given to them. By doing the user testing process, we would be able to improvise our product as well as making the product more user-friendly. The user-testing involve 5 different users going through 3 similar tasks to test the usability as well as the functionality of the interface. Testing with users Task 1 - Sort the trash using smart trash bin Task 2 - Alert users when the trash bin is full Task 3 - Request to recycle paper to the nearest location User 1 IMG_0947.MOV User 2 IMG_0765.MOV User 3 IMG_0759.MOV User 4 IMG_0761.MOV User 5 IMG_0762.MOV   Briefing notes Hi! We are from team Thrasher. Today we would like to test our functional prototype. Here we have two functional prototypes which are the smart trash bin and the app called ‘Recircle’. Recycling is a good way to keep our environment safe and clean. So, you as a user has 3 tasks to do which is f...

Project #3 - Conceptual & Physical Design

Conceptual & Physical Design Introduction In this phase 3, we are moving to create the conceptual and physical design of our proposed product. As a team, we have conducted a few activities such as Crazy 8 minutes, as well as discussion to create the product design that will satisfy our targeted user. We have done a Storyboard for each of the task that we proposed which is easy to comprehend. Then, the Wireframes or prototype of the product application , as well as an interaction metaphor that is easy to understand by almost everyone which will make the application easy and engaging to use. Storyboards For each of your THREE (3) user tasks/functions, demonstrate how your proposed solution would be used by your persona within the scenario that you described in Project #2. Hand-sketching is preferred. This means you will have to scan/take a picture of the storyboard and upload. Task 1 : automatic rubbish sorter Task 2 : notification alert of space in the trash can Task 3 : applicatio...

Project #2 - User Analysis

Image
Gathering Requirements - User Analysis Proposed Tasks Task 1 : automatic rubbish sorter the user can throw the rubbish right away by click the material button without need to sort it manually Task 2 : notification alert of space in the trash can The user can know the space inside the trash can The user will get the notification when the trash can is full So user can know when they need to take out their rubbish outside For waste manager, they can know which trash can that they need to pickup Task 3 : application that can locate and know the condition of trash can The user can locate the location of trash can when they want to throw rubbish For waste manager, they can locate the trash can to pick up the rubbish to the designated center Persona User 1: Primary School Student Kamil is a 12 years old student. He is studying at SK Sri Indah. His favorite subject is science which also makes him have a very good curiosity about nature and his environment. He is also a student who loves to ti...

Project #2 - Task Analysis

Gather Requirement - Task Analysis Introduction For this project phase 2, We are testing the traditional/conventional or usual trash bin that is being used by almost everyone in almost every building. There are three things that we test which are to sort the trash manually, take out/clean up the full trash bin and make a request to recycle newspapers to the nearest location . We also try to understand how people/targeted users are using the trash bin and how useful/convenient is the design/ergonomic and also understanding their thought process for each task. For task 3 specifically, we use Recircle app which is a mobile application that aims to digitalize the recycling industry in Malaysia. It can make it easier for the user to recycle their unwanted stuff such as plastic bottles, boxes, mixed metal and also old newspapers. In addition, the goal of the app is to educate people more about 3R and to have a clean environment. Derivation of HTA User 1 : Primary School Student Video link 1:...

Project #1 Project Proposal

Project Proposal: Smart Dustbin Smart Dustbin - a dustbin with AI features that can smartly sort your trash Problem Based on our observation, the waste management system can be upgraded to improve the efficiency. therefore, we have recognized the problem that we want to solve with our proposed solution. 1. Unsorted Garbage Most of us think that to sort all the trash type is the waste operator's job. It supposed to be us who should sort the trash as to prevent it become mixed trash. Mixed trash that is released into the environment could endanger our environment by releasing dangerous substances into the earth, dangerous gases into the air that could hasten the ozone layer's ozone layer depletion, and many other unwanted bad effects. Trash must be sorted to prevent waste from ends up in the landfill and also to have a clean environment. Thus, dealing with trash is costly and many communities spend more money on trash processing other than things like fire protection, parks a...
